Automobile’s future is going to be light: in physical weight, emotionally and on environmental impacts. Reports about the Anxiety Era indicate stress as the evil of the century, and show how companies have developed products that offer more comfort and that improve people’s life quality. In this scenario, independent vehicles will contribute positively on how the users enjoy their time, they will be able to read a book, interact or simply rest.
Customization is also present, ensuring that the preferences of every user are respected when each of them is conducting the vehicle. Thereby, column B that is also printed in 3D allows the patterns to be customized by using the smartphone. The front grille will send luminous information through two full-LEDS and changes the color according to the presets of driver.
Inside the car, the seats, the steering wheel and the door panels are coated with a natural fabric with sensors that can map the user’s heartbeats and his/her stress levels. These sensors send the information to the electric system that changes the color of the transparent car parts to indicate that the user’s mood is changing. When the variationhappens, the fabric releases a subtle emulsion made of essential oils that is going to flow along the bloodstream, starting from the contact with the conductor’s skin.
The instrument panel is printed in 3D, and it has on its center part an interaction system similar to the one on the car’s body and hologram system to assist the driver. Building cars printed in 3D enables not only time saving. According to a study published in 2009 by NAS, “Less than one third of the environmental impact caused by automobiles is due to their use. The rest comes from the fabrication process, especially the impact caused by the mining industry and metal refinement industry”. Besides the quickness, 3D printing favors the design, and it assures the lightness of the cars. The car body is printed in 3D with carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) and the bumpers are injected
with the green plastic made from ethanol from sugar cane.
Automobile’s future is not going to be about flying cars, but about rescuing
the essence of well-being and simply breathing and getting involved
